Is DTG good for print on demand?
Yes, and for most cotton-shirt sellers it should be the default. DTG (direct to garment) printing works like a specialized inkjet printer that applies water-based ink straight into the fabric's fibers instead of laying it on top. Because the ink becomes part of the fabric rather than a coating over it, DTG produces the softest print of the three methods, one you genuinely can't feel much once the shirt is washed a couple of times.
DTG also handles unlimited colors and full-color photographic designs in a single pass, with no added cost per color the way screen printing has. That makes it a natural fit for on-demand selling, where every order might be a completely different design and printing setup time per order needs to stay near zero.
