Introducing Video Mockups: Turn Any Mockup Into a Video

By Kerry Egeler, Founder of Drop Studio

Your mockups can move now.

Video Mockups are live in Drop Studio. Pick any mockup, choose a motion, and in about a minute you have a short, looping video of your shirt. The model blinks and breathes, hair moves in the breeze, the camera drifts in. And your design stays right where you put it.

Why video?

Video stops the scroll. A photo that moves gets noticed in a feed, an ad, or a product page in a way a still image can't.

Until now, getting a video of your shirt meant a real photo shoot or a separate AI video tool that knows nothing about apparel (and loves to scramble the text on your design). Now it takes one click from the mockups you already have.

Use your videos for:

  • Facebook and Instagram ads
  • Reels, TikTok, and stories
  • Etsy and Shopify listing videos
  • Product pages and email

How it works

  1. Choose your mockup. Click Video in the sidebar. Pick a mockup From Library, or Upload your own photo of your design on a shirt. You can also hover any mockup in your Library and click Make Video.
  2. Pick a motion. Choose On a Model or Flat Lay, then pick how it moves.
  3. Generate. Click Generate Video. It usually takes under a minute, and you can leave the page while it works.

Your video saves to your Library automatically. Play it right there, then download the MP4.

The motions

We kept the choices simple on purpose. Every motion is small, natural, and built to keep your print looking right.

On a model:

  • Subtle life: they breathe, blink, and give a slight smile.
  • Glance: a natural look to the side and back to the camera.
  • Breeze: hair, clothes, and the background move gently.
  • Slow push-in: the camera slowly drifts closer.

Flat lay:

  • Slow push-in: the camera drifts in over your shirt.
  • Light shift: sunlight and shadows move softly across it.

Pricing

Each video costs 4 credits on any paid plan: Starter, Pro, or Unlimited.

Credits are only used once your video is ready. If something goes wrong and a video doesn't finish, you aren't charged.

Tips for the best videos

  • Start with a great mockup. A clear, well-lit photo where your design faces the camera makes the best video.
  • Match the motion to the photo. Subtle life and Glance shine on close-ups of a model. Breeze is great outdoors. Slow push-in works on almost anything.
  • Make a few. Try two or three motions on your best mockup and run the winner in your ads.

Also new in Drop Studio

  • Select and delete in bulk. In your Library, select as many items as you want, use Select all to grab everything on screen, and delete them in one go (we'll ask you to confirm first).
  • A redesigned mobile app. Drop Studio now works properly on your phone, with a new bottom menu, bigger buttons, and controls that are easy to find. Design, make mockups and videos, and manage your Library from anywhere.
