The biggest update in Drop Studio's history is live: the Editor has replaced the old Refine tab for every user. It's a full design editor built specifically for print-on-demand — everything you need to take a design from "almost right" to print-ready, in one place.
Click the pencil icon in the sidebar, open any design from your library (or upload one), and here's what you can do.
Fix or add text — the #1 request
AI-generated designs are great until the text is wrong. Now you can fix it:
- Replace printed text: brush over the old words, click Erase & replace, and the old text disappears — cleanly, even on colored backgrounds. An editable text box appears in its place, matched to the original position, size, and color.
- Add new text anywhere: extra lines, "EST. 2024", back-print slogans.
- Everything stays editable: click any text to select it, drag to move (it snaps to center), pull a corner to resize, double-click to retype.
- Style it like merch: 40+ print-ready fonts (varsity, western, script, chalk, and more), bold, outline, drop shadow, and five warp shapes — Arc, Wave, Flag, Grow, and Bulge.

AI Variations
Click the sparkles icon and Drop Studio re-imagines your design: same wording, fresh artwork. Choose 2 or 4 variations and slide how different you want them — from subtle detail changes to a bold new take. Open your favorite in the editor or save keepers straight to your library. Pricing is simple: 1 credit per 2 variations.
Recolor, texture, and clean-up — all free
- Recolor: paint over any part of the artwork and pick a new color — shading and detail are preserved. Or swap a specific color everywhere it appears, or read the design's whole palette and generate ready-made colorways.
- Texturize: one-click print finishes — Halftone, Vintage, Grunge, Scratches, Grain — on the whole design or just where you brush.
- Remove Color: click a color to erase it. The cleanest way to pull a flat background.
- Erase: a live eraser brush for small cleanup.
Print-ready, guaranteed
- Upscale boosts resolution ~4x for crisp printing (1 credit). The top bar always shows your design's exact print size at 300 DPI and tells you when upscaling is recommended — and if you open a low-res design, the editor lands you on the Upscale tool automatically.
- Cut Background removes the whole background with AI (1 credit) — best saved for last, after your other edits.
